I’ll be at the Charlotte Heroes Con from June 14-16

Art News Comments Off on I’ll be at the Charlotte Heroes Con from June 14-16

Hi everyone, I’ll be appearing at the Heroes Convention in Charlotte, NC from June 14-16. This is a show that I have enjoyed for many years, and I’m glad to be able to attend again. You can find out more information about the show at their website at https://www.heroesonline.com/heroescon/.

I’m doing a limited number of pre-show commissions before the convention again as my schedule has opened up after finishing my latest issue. This is the best option if you want artwork from me, as my table time is limited by signing and talking to fans.

The price is $300 for a watercolor bust/torso of a single character of your choice done on 9″ x 12″ Strathmore Archival paper with Schmincke Horadam Watercolors. These have been very popular and I’ve posted my most recent examples at my website and in this post.  I will do any character from any media; I’ve done movie and TV characters and characters out of literature and history, not just comic book characters.

I accept cash or credit cards at the show, or I prefer paypal being arranged before the show. I will contact you with any questions I might have and to confirm everything via email.

(Update 6/6/19) Pre-show commissions are now closed for this show. Please see me at the event to see if I can help you during the event. I’ll be confirming requests shortly!

Dallas Comic Show is April 6-7, 2019

Art News Comments Off on Dallas Comic Show is April 6-7, 2019

So, 2018 has come and gone and I was unable to attend any convention that year due to an aggressive work schedule. That will change this year!

The first show I am able to attend this year is the Dallas Comic Show at the Richardson Civic Center from April 6-7, 2019. You can find out more information at http://www.dallascomicshow.com/.

I’ll be there both days doing my usual thing of signing books, selling prints, and doing commissions as time allows. I am doing a small number of commissions before the show as my schedule has opened up a little. This is the best option if you want artwork from me as typically trying to get things done at the show is very iffy for me as I tend to be busy.

Wonder Woman (and a little extra Batman)

Art News, Uncategorized Comments Off on Wonder Woman (and a little extra Batman)

I’ve seen the movie twice already and love it. Wonder Woman’s always been one of my favorite DC Comics characters as I loved mythology as a kid and really relished George Perez’s run on the book. He really added a lot to her story in terms of origins and personality while putting her in a unique roll in the greater DC universe.

As the summer convention season is in full swing, I decided to celebrate my now working with DC by doing a series of prints of their iconic characters, and the first two are ready with Wonder Woman and Batman! If you’d like to own these pieces as high quality 18″ x 24″ lithographs, come see me at a convention I’m attending, like the Heroes or Denver Comic-Cons I’ll be attending later this month.

I’ll be at Motor City Comic-Con this weekend May 19-21!

Art News Comments Off on I’ll be at Motor City Comic-Con this weekend May 19-21!

I’m excited and ready to attend the big Motor City Comic-Con, happening this weekend from May 19-21 at the Suburban Collection Showplace. You can find all the show information at http://motorcitycomiccon.com and see all the guests and celebrities attending. I ended up doing a cool Ron Perlman print for the convention that they are using as a VIP item, and I’ll have brand new stuff at my table for you all to look at.

I’ll be at Booth C21 sitting next to my friend and fellow comic artist Frank Cho. We’ll have a really cool couple of things we’ve worked on together in limited quantities at the show, shown for the first time anywhere, so check it out! Also, I will be closing my pre-show commission list for Motor City at midnight tonight, while keeping lists for other upcoming shows open for now. You can sign up for my pre-show watercolors at http://www.brandonpeterson.com/blog/?page_id=3994

See you there!

Baltimore Comic-Con was last weekend, and what a great show it was. Thanks to everyone who helped make it so fantastic for me and I look forward to being back in Baltimore soon!

If this next part seems to be cut and pasted it is, I’ll be attending the New York Comic Con from October 8-11 and am taking a pre-show commission list. These have been very popular and in high demand. You can see a bunch of examples of recent pieces from Baltimore Comic-Con posted here. I recommend if you are going to the New York show and you want to be sure to get a piece from me to do this option as I typically only can do a handful at the show and I fill-up my list for the entire show within a few hours of the show opening the first day. It’s so much easier to see the piece done beforehand and know it’s waiting there at your leisure by using this option.

The price is $250 for a watercolor bust (head and upper torso) of the character of your choice done on 9×12 Arches Archival Watercolor paper with Schmincke Horadam Watercolors. I can also do the painting on a recent blank Marvel or DC cover variant for an additional $10. I can find most blank variants at the local comics store, just specify what you’re interested and I’ll see if I can get it. I will do any character, I’ve done movie and TV characters and characters out of literature and history, not just comic book characters.

I will be accepting payment via paypal with pickup available all days of the show. So if you are interested please email brandonpetersonsketches (at) gmail.com as soon as possible!

Back from San Diego Comic-Con International

Rocketeer

Hi Everyone, I flew back early this morning from San Diego, the week long media spectacular that is unique among the comicons due to sheer volume. Volume of people, volume of media attention, volume of material to look at and buy, volume of the loud trailers in Hall H. You get the idea.

I’m back to work drawing my pages for Marvel, but here are a few selected fun bits that I did at the show. My next bug show is the Baltimore Comic-Con in September, and as that draws near I will be posting more information. To all of you who I saw in San Diego, thanks for making it a great show and I hope you had as good a time as I did!

I’m posting one of my commissions for San Diego. It’s a scene from the best Star Trek movie: Star Trek II – The Wrath of Khan. If you’re interested in a watercolor, you can find all the info at http://www.brandonpeterson.com/blog/?p=3887

I’m also posting the Mouse Guard piece as it was pretty late when I posted it and many probably didn’t see it.

I’ll be giving a demonstration of some of my techniques at the Wacom booth (Booth 5336) during San Diego on Thursday, July 16th from 2-3 PM. I’ll be using the impressive power of the Wacom Cintiq to show some digital inking methods I’ve developed and used over the years in my work, so come by and see me make a fool of myself on all the newest equipment! I’ve also made a map showing where I will be at the con and at that Wacom demonstration. I’m in Artist Alley, booth HH07, at the same place I’ve been the last few years.

I also am opening up my pre-show commission list for San Diego. If you think you want a sketch from me at the show, this is your best option by far as I will probably be too busy to do much work at the Comic-Con.

The prices are $250 for a watercolor bust (head and torso) of the character of your choice done on 9×12 Arches Archival Watercolor paper with Schmincke Horadam Watercolors. These have been very popular and if you go to my blog at http://www.brandonpeterson.com/blog/ you can see dozens of recent examples that I have posted. I can also do the painting on a recent blank Marvel or DC cover variant for an additional $10. I can find most blank variants at the local comics store, just specify what you’re interested and I’ll see if I can get it.
