Baltimore Comic-Con Commissions for September 22-24

Site News

The last official con for me for the year is coming up in Baltimore from September 22-24, 2017

I’ll be at all 3 days of the show, signing your books, selling merchandise and doing con commissions as time allows. I’ve also opened up my pre-show commission list for Baltimore. If you think you will want a piece from me at that show, this is a great option to guarantee that I’ll be able to do it for you to pickup at the show. On the actual show days, my time is very limited and I usually can’t get to everyone that makes a request for art during the event. Additionally, the work I do before the convention is often better quality as I’m doing it comfortably at home in my studio.

The price is $240 for a watercolor bust (head and torso) of the character of your choice done on 9″ x 12″ Strathmore Archival paper with Schmincke Horadam Watercolors. These have been very popular and I’ve posted some examples just below this paragraph.  I will do any character from any media; I’ve done movie and TV characters and characters out of literature and history, not just comic book characters.

I will be accepting payment via Paypal with pickup available from the beginning of the show and through all the days of the show.

If you’d like to reserve a watercolor commission for the Baltimore Comic-Con, please use the form at the bottom of this post, or there is a convenient button link to the form at the top of the sidebar to the right under “2017 Convention Commissions”. If you would like more than one commission please submit the form multiple times.

  • San Diego Comic-Con (July 19-July 23)

I’ll be at all days of all the shows, signing your books, selling merchandise (there are some new goodies coming) and doing con commissions as time allows. I’ve also openned up my pre-show commission list for the above shows. If you think you will want a piece from me at any of the listed conventions, this is a great option to guarantee that I’ll be able to do it for you to pickup at the show. On the actual show days, my time is very limited and I usually can’t get to everyone that makes a request for art during the event. Additionally, the work I do before the convention is often better quality as I’m doing it comfortably at home in my studio.

These have been very popular and I’ve posted some examples just below this paragraph. I can also do the painting on a recent blank comic cover variant for an additional $10. I can find most blank variants at my local comic store, just specify what you’re interested in and I will see what I can get it. I will do any character from any media; I’ve done movie and TV characters and characters out of literature and history, not just comic book characters.

I will be accepting payment via Paypal with pickup available from the beginning of the show and through all the days of the show.

If you’d like to reserve a watercolor commission for any of those conventions, please use the form at the bottom of this post, or there is a convenient button link to the form at the top of the sidebar to the right. If you would like more than one commission, or different commissions for different conventions, please submit the form multiple times.

If you’d like a more elaborate commission, I do on occasion larger 11″ x 17″ cover quality, more finished watercolor pieces for $1,500 for delivery at conventions. If you’re interested in one of those cover qaulity pieces please email me directly at brandonpeterson [at] gmail [dot] com for more information and to make your request. I have posted two of these special examples immediately below.

It’s that time of year again, when fans flock to San Diego for the big show!

I’ll be attending San Diego Comic-Con from July 20-24. I’ll be set up at the Big Wow Art booth 4903 instead of Artist’s Alley this year.

I also am opening up my pre-show commission list for San Diego. If you think you want a sketch from me at the show, this is your best option by far as I will probably be too busy to do much work at the Comic-Con.

I’ll be attending the Baltimore Comic-Con from September 25-27 and am taking a pre-show commission list. These have been very popular and in high demand. You can see a bunch of examples of recent pieces posted here. I recommend if you are going to the show and you want to be sure to get a piece from me to do this option as I typically only can do a handful at the show and fill-up for the entire show within a few hours of the show opening the first day. It’s so much easier to see the piece and know it’s waiting there at your leisure by using this option.

Back from Baltimore, on to New York Comic Con in October!

Site News

I had a blast at the Baltimore show last weekend. I saw a lot of fans and signed a lot of stuff. Special thanks to Marc Nathan and his crew of industrious elves for all their hard work. A special shout out to Frank Cho who hosted a dinner Sunday night at his house for about a dozen of us, we were well stuffed by the time the evening wrapped up.

At the show, two artist fans gave me a couple of drawings they had done themselves, just out of the blue, something that always leaves me flabbergasted at the time I get them as I know how much work it is to do art.

I have gotten these types of gifts sometimes before and never remember to properly thank the nice artists who give me such nice things, so I thought I would post them here and say thanks. Either one can send me an email so I can thank them if they see this post. I’ve posted the drawings above, one is from artist Doctor Fantastic and the second was signed by Krol, but his full name escapes me at the moment.

The next show I will be attending is the New York Comic Con from October 11-14 at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan. You can learn all about the con at http://www.newyorkcomiccon.com/. I will be talking more about the show as we get closer to the show date.

Back to California for the Long Beach Comic Con

Site News

I will be attending the Long Beach Comic Con on October 29 and 30 at the Long Beach Convention Center. Lots of great guests will be there and if you missed me in July at San Diego, you have another chance to see my smiling mug. The show’s website has all the information so check it out- http://www.longbeachcomiccon.com/.

I will be signing and such both days, and also saying “Hi” to old friends in California I haven’t seen much in the dozen years I’ve been in Florida. I will be staying a few days after the show and then heading up to the San Francisco area for a bit so hopefully I will have a chance to meet up with all my fellow miscreants while I am on the West Coast.
